29 Jul Ed Sheeran
Where: Rogers Arena
When: July 28, 2017I don’t really have to explain too much about how AMAZING this show was. His opening act – James Blunt was phenomenal and he definitely got the crowd ready for Ed Sheeran. Having listened and absolutely in love with his current album titled “The Afterlife”, his short but sweet act was brilliant as he definitely made sure to leave the stage with he crowd wanting more.
There is no question for how much I love his music, but proving to be that artist who respects his fans and their time, Ed won me over (again) when he promptly took to the stage at 8:30PM on his ÷ Tour (“divide tour“) – the third world concert tour in support of his third studio album. It would be hard for anyone to lie and say there is not one Ed Sheeran song that doesn’t touch them in a specific way for a very specific reason. Sheeran displayed his artistry on stage throughout his performance and there was no seat left thinking out loud that he is anything but an incredible solo artist. With no backing band, and his pedal board l as his only accompaniment (next to his revolving number of guitars), there was no question that every pure sound did not come from him. Playing all the fan favourites, he left every fan wanting more and craving his return to his “favourite city in North America”. The whole show was great, but my favourite moment was when he sang the line “under the light of a thousand stars” from “The A Team” and seeing the arena illuminated with phone flashlights took my breath away. Beautiful.
His one man show stage presence was felt by all.... N. xo
