Lee Fields

Where: The Imperial

When: Wednesday, December 7, 2016

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, despite the rave reviews. As a soul-music lover, I was very surprised that Lee Fields hadn’t hit my playlist or ear shot before that evening.

His voice emulated and projected soul at it’s finest – and of course the moniker of “Little JB” or “Little James Brown” made more sense having been in his presence. He delivered a very solid set which I really enjoyed – it definitely got me feeling all types of emotions which was nice. I was having fun while enjoying the progression of the evening.

If you don’t know him, I would suggest you get acquainted with him and his sound. He is a representation of soul that was and that people try to re-capture – the good old soul music.
