Maui | Day One Look

Never having been to an island, I definitely made sure I was prepared. When it came to packing, it came down to the following:

  • Weather;
  • Looking and feeling fabulous.

It was not going to be too hard – given the size of my closet! I definitely made sure that I had a day and night-time outfit for every day we were there – and me being me – I packed about two extra looks just in case something happened.  It’s an island and you can never be too sure!

My  outfit choices for day one were a no brainer because I wanted to be cool in the heat. That’s why I decided that this chambray romper would be the perfect go-to look, and not to be boring, I infused pops of colour. Accessorized with my Michael Kors watch, a long chain, one of my favourite lipsticks by Nars and YSL sunnies to boot, all of this made for the perfect chic look for a day spent on the road. In terms of footwear, being comfortable was the key therefore, my white Keds were just the perfect complement. Easy … breezy … you get the rest!

As the day went on and it got warmer, I decided to lose the romper and get into a pair of denim cut-offs. My bathing suit offered the pop of colour which was great! Never one to blend into the crowd, I stuck out like a sore thumb! Why blend in when you were born to be different?

I am a thrifty shopper so I like to make my coin go a little further than just the next trend. That being said, I do make investments to key pieces that will go for years. My own style has its own bold flair which keeps things interesting all the time. I like to pair different items together and test the range of colour I can wear with my complexion because some colours are great, and some just do not do anything for me. I like bold and vibrant hues and this vacation was just a great excuse to delve into my closet like always and express myself.

What is your vacation style?
